Overview
We kick off the safari on a game farm under a Baobab tree from where we depart for Botswana. We will be following the old hunter’s road, which hugs the Zimbabwe border, spitting us out near Kasane. From there we will attempt to follow a section of the Zambesi River, going through the Zambezi National Park to Victoria Falls. We will be spending two nights here, to give you the opportunity to take in the sites and experiences of the area. Activities abound, aquarium, bungi jumping, canoeing, croc farm, elephant back safaris, falls tour, gorge swing, helicopter flips, horse riding, lion walks, parasailing, ultralight flights, white water rafting and a sundowner cruise. Our next park will be Zimbabwe’s biggest, Hwange National park and from there, via Bulawayo to Motobo National Park, which is a UNESCO world heritage site where the endangered black and white rhino are successfully breeding. To avoid Beit Bridge, we will be returning to SA via Botswana for our final evening.
We will be making ourselves at home under the African sky and for the two nights on the hunter’s road, you will have to be totally self sufficient including water. All the other camping sites will have fairly good amenities and will prove to be very comfortable. Daily travel distances have been planned in such a way that we can experience the countryside and to accommodate stops for photography, sightseeing etc. with exception on the first day, when we will have to cover some distance.
The safari is camping accommodation only, with two nights “wild” camping with no facilities.
Some of the places that will be visited :
.
Elephant Sands
Hunters Road
Vic Falls
Hwange National Park
Motobo National Park
